What's A Chantilly Tiffany Cat?

Leilah, the Chantilly-Tiffany Cat is a pure breed and her male companion Sebastian is a Chantilly-Tiffany mixed with a Tabby cat. I’m lucky to have found her in the sense that she’s not what I expected. I was at the animal shelter in search of a Calico aka Tortoise cat— I liked that they looked like all the cats I want into one. There I was, with someone I lived with at the time, and I saw this adorable black cat (she’s chocolate but I thought she was black back then). She was small and only 3 months old at the time, all eyes and fur. To this day, she reminds me of Toothless the dragon, other times she’s a wolf but everyday she’s a clever little expletive (lol). She has very HIGH standards, she loves salmon and the color black— in her mind, she’s a chameleon and you cannot see her once she lays on anything black. For the most part, that’s true. Both Leilah and Sebastian are incredibly photogenic and have a gorgeous, silky coat that requires little to no fuss, only a good brushing once every 2-3 days. This breed are excellent self groomers, however it’s best to brush their coat to minimize fur ball troubles and occasional tangles. Chantilly Tiffany cats are extremely affectionate, extremely to the point of “wow, are you really a cat?”. They will leave you alone and can entertain themselves for hours but they do require attention and cuddles. Chantilly Tiffany cats are known to be depressed if left alone for too long. It’s easy to incorporate them into your daily life, because they have dog like personalities. They enjoy the outdoors, car rides and can naturally pick up the habit to fetch (see video) and bringing toys for you to play with. You can even walk them on a leash.

Chantilly-Tiffany cats are AMAZINGLY smart. Leilah, particularly can often be too smart as she has shown me much intelligence, including defiance. They’re also very communicative and chatty. Please talk to them like a regular person and watch them “talk” back to you with animated expressions and chirps. They have several different responses as far as chirps and coos (they realistically sound like birds). These beautiful creatures are very loyal and protective of their owners. It is widely known that Chantilly-Tiffany cats will adopt one or two people as their life partner (the one they must follow around, protect, is faithful and loyal to). They are sweet with other people, including children— definitely non-violent, and are more described as gentle giants than anything else. Both Leilah and Sebastian were misidentified as Maine Coon cats but as more and more people find and adopt them, the Chantilly Tiffany breed lives on. If you happen to find one, you will be lucky. They are extremely rare and very cool pets/members of the family to have.

My favorite pose that cats do. I love how they look like a giant loaf of bread.

Leilah (in the back) has a luxurious coat and fluffy squirrel-like tail. Her body is naturally long, possesses huge yellow eyes and tuft ears. Sebastian (in the front) has characteristics similar to Leilah’s in regards to her silky coat, large eyes and tuft ears. They both chirp but he has green eyes and a thinner tail.

The color of her coat is more visible in the sunlight. She has a deep brown chocolate color fur that looks black. Chantilly Tiffany cats commonly come in the color and referred to as Chocolates, but they’re also bred in different hues such as blue, cinnamon, lilac, and fawn.

When it was just Leilah and I (before Sebastian) she’d mimic a lot of my human traits, use her paws to eat, sleeps on back or on side with one arm sticking out. She even likes to wear clothes and places her paw in my shoes.
